Building a Sustainable Future: Enhancing Responsible Business Conduct in the APAC Region
The Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong and Macao, amfori, and GlobeScan co-organised the seminar "Building a Sustainable Future: Enhancing Responsible Business Conduct in the APAC Region" on 22 October 2024. This joint industry seminar brought together over 30 senior executives, trade professionals, and sustainability experts, who participated both in person and online. In light of “Responsible Business Conduct Abroad: Canada’s Strategy for The Future”, a five-year strategy by the Canadian Government, the seminar discuss key issues surrounding Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) for Canadian companies in Asia-Pacific region.
Supply Chain’s ESG Risk Management and Practical Tools
More than 100 senior management and sustainability professionals from businesses in the Greater Bay Area of China joined the online webinar on 10 October 2024 organised by the Hong Kong Productivity Council in collaboration with amfori. The webinar titled “Supply Chain’s ESG Risk Management and Practical Tools” focused on the strategies and practical approaches to managing ESG risks within supply chains.

The 12th Global Footwear Sustainability Summit 2024 was successfully held on 29-30 August at the Sheraton Dongguan, China. With the theme of "Sustainability in Action: Transforming the World Footwear with Sustainability & Circularity," the Summit gathers nearly a hundred C-level executives and sustainability leaders from the footwear industry to exchange views and discuss sustainable practices in action.
Nowadays, an average of 35% of women in the globe fall victim to direct violence at the workplace. At amfori, we are dedicated to support our members to improve their policy related to Gender Equality. That is why, we are proud to announce the launch of two new trainings on this crucial topic: Gender Equality and Zero-violence for Violence and Harassment in the workplace. The first one is an e-learning designed for our members’ business partners and the second is a learning video created specifically for factory workers. While we are encouraging amfori business partners to review and update their Social Management Policies, we empower factory workers to know their human rights connected to this topic.
Event Roundup: The 30th Sino-European CSR Roundtable Forum
Co-organized by amfori and China Sustainability Tribune, the 30th Sino-European CSR Roundtable Forum was successfully held on 13 June 2024 at the Beijing Shangri-La Hotel. With the theme of “Intelligent Supply Chain for an All-Win Future”, the Forum brought together over 270,000 viewers from China and across the globe online and offline.
