Content and Quality

How do you ensure the quality and accuracy of resources shared on the Hub?

All resource contributions on the Asia Garment Hub go through a rigorous vetting process: If you upload content, it doesn’t immediately become visible for all users. They are first assessed by our content team and appear as “private” before they are published. All content management is done by trained staff, not robots.
Only registered users can make contributions. All uploads are done from an individual or organizational profile, providing a level of "accountability".
We ask our members to help us ensure that content meets our standards by reviewing and verifying content before uploading.
While we cannot guarantee the absence of errors for every user and every upload, we make every effort to ensure consistency and quality of the Asia Garment Hub, both in terms of our management processes and the overall "logic" of the platform - which is built on individual and organizational responsibility.
For the Industry News provided by Kyna Intel we have a vetting process before any news appears on the Asia Garment Hub. In addition, Kyna Intel has strict internal criteria to check the quality of the news they provide to their subscribers and to our platform.

What is the vetting process at the Asia Garment Hub?

The quality and relevance of all content are manually reviewed and overseen by a trained and experienced content team.
The following questions are asked:
- Does the content come from a reputable industry source?
- Is the content relevant to Asia Garment Hub's goals as well as its audience?
- Are there warning signs that indicate the article has deficiencies in quality, accuracy, or relevance?
- Based on a review of the content, can it be concluded in good faith that the article meets the required standards of quality, relevance, and accuracy?
- If the content team identifies red flags regarding the relevance, accuracy, or quality of the content (identified during the manual review phase), the articles in question will be selected for a secondary (pre-publication) review by a senior ILO or GIZ staff member. The ILO and GIZ may then approve or reject the article(s) for publication.

My organization already has its own website, so why do we need the Asia Garment Hub?

We don't want to simply duplicate your content, but amplify its reach and impact among new audiences. The Hub is therefore complementary to your own website and outreach efforts.
All industry players are invited to upload their content and use the Asia Garment Hub to share their resources and materials with other industry players.
To ensure that your contributions can be found on the Asia Garment Hub, it is best to upload your key materials (publications, training materials, white paper, flyer, videos) to our Resources section. In order to upload content, prior registration is required. You can register here.
To ensure that your content will be found in the search of the resources, use the "tags" appropriately so that it shows up under the relevant filters.

Using the Asia Garment Hub

As a user, should I upload resources with my individual profile or my organization/project profile?

If you personally want to be linked to this product, (potentially be contacted with questions by others) and want people to see it in your own contributions, then you should upload your resources with your individual profile.
If the resource is a product of your organization/project you should upload it using your organization profile.
The advantage of using an organizational profile is that the login data credentials can be shared with other colleagues in your organization / team.
What we recommend to organizations/projects in the industry is to assign one focal point in your team who always checks internally, if new resources can be made available to the wider public (and be uploaded on the Asia Garment Hub) and who also regularly checks for relevant updates for your organization on the platform.

Can the Asia Garment Hub help me find out who does what in the garment sector?

Under “Who’s Who”, in the navigation main tab you will find an interactive map with industry expertise and sustainability partners worldwide. If you go on the subsites for organizations or individuals, you can also browse through existing profiles. In their profiles, individual users and organizations can enter their areas of expertise, where they are working, their areas of interest etc. Many organizations also upload links to their fact sheets or their organizations website.
Organizations also have the option to add more information on their main activities, to give other users a better overview on their focus areas.
As registered user, you have access to the “Who’s Who” map which provides you with a search function, where you can filter all existing profiles by organization type, expertise, etc.
The registration form for organizations includes additional questions about the project duration, clients, partners, etc. The advantage is that this project profile can then be linked to a broader organizational profile so that you can see the connections between organizations.

How can I use the Asia Garment Hub as a supplier/manufacturer?

There are many different opportunities for suppliers to use the platform. You can use the platform the following ways:
- You can check what industry events are available on the topic–by using the Industry Calendar to browse events. If you look for a particular event, you can use our Event Search.
- Existing studies/publications may be found in our Resources, where you can filter by theme, country, language etc.
- If you are looking for specific training, e-modules and learning opportunities, you can use the subsite Learning
- If you need external support (e.g. to help you assess the situation in your own factory), you can use the “Who’s Who” section. Here, you can search for relevant individuals or organizations. You can customize the search by setting the relevant filters.

How to be part of this Hub as a brand/buyer?

As a buyer, we hope that our range of themes and resources (e.g. Business & Productivity, Purchasing Practices) will be of interest to you, but we would also like to encourage you to get together with like-minded business insiders - to share experiences, raise problems and issues and discuss them together.

Ownership, Governance and the Future of the Asia Garment Hub

How long will the platform be funded by GIZ and ILO? What's the future plan for the Asia Garment Hub?

Currently, the Asia Garment Hub is jointly owned and maintained by the German Development Organization (GIZ) and the International Labour Organization (ILO). Both organizations are committed to supporting the Hub until it’s on a solid growth path, at least until June 2024.
After 2024, the ILO and GIZ aim to transfer the Asia Garment Hub to independent third-party ownership, so it becomes a wholly industry-owned and industry-led initiative. This transition will be subject to thorough vetting and due diligence and dependent on the availability of a suitable industry partner (or consortium of partners) with broad authority and legitimacy among industry stakeholders.
ILO and GIZ are already starting conversations with potential “sustainability partners” who may be interested in taking over the platform.
