Feasibility Study on the Biogas Production Potential in the Textile Industry in Bangladesh

Bangladesh, the world's second-largest textile and clothing producer after China, relies heavily on the EU and USA markets. The textile and garment industry is crucial to its economy and employment. However, it faces challenges in waste management, energy use, and safety and labor standards. Biogas production offers a sustainable solution by converting organic waste into renewable energy. This study indicates that biogas production is both technically feasible and economically viable and can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve waste management. It recommends leveraging financing options, enhancing regulatory support, and fostering public-private partnerships for widespread adoption in the textile sector.
