Why you shouldn't miss this year's OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector
The 8th OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector will take place on February 23-24, 2022. Held virtually, this year's event will focus on the theme of "Rethinking The Business Model For Responsible Supply Chains."
Discussions will address key developments and upcoming challenges facing the industry, including structural issues in the supply chain, how different business models and policy initiatives can support more responsible business conduct, and how supply chain actors can incorporate risk-based due diligence in their operations.
Panel sessions will explore a diverse array of themes critical to industry resilience and sustainability -from purchasing practices to supply chain dialogue models, living wages to climate risk mitigation and adaptation, and from mandatory due diligence to public procurement.
Together, participants will focus on opportunities and next steps to scale initiatives that are making real impact.
The Forum also brings together representatives of government, business, trade unions and civil society to review progress on the implementation of the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains in the Garment and Footwear Sector, to address emerging risks and to share learnings across geographies in a neutral environment.
There will also be selected side events hosted by partner organizations, on February 21, 22 and 25 -some of which we have highlighted here. Whether you're interested in "Responsible digital wage payments", "Women's empowerment in garment supply chains" or "Creating a new balance in buyer-supplier relations", the OECD side sessions are not to be missed.
