We are pleased to announce that April 1st marks the start of this year’s Better Buying Purchasing Practices IndexTM (BBPPI) 2022 annual ratings cycle. The cycle will be open for supplier ratings until May 31st.

Win-Win Sustainable Partnership is a one of seven key BBPPI categories and includes both the internal alignment of buyer staff on corporate social compliance goals, and the buyer’s contribution to reducing industry-wide audit duplication. It also covers audit harmonization, a practice that Better BuyingTM considers a “High Impact” practice due to the frequency with which suppliers report how it is negatively affecting their business, and driving up operating costs.

With the completion of the sixth annual Better Buying Purchasing Practices IndexTM (BBPPI) ratings cycle, the number of product categories represented by the suppliers submitting ratings continues to grow. The past few ratings cycles have demonstrated the applicability of the BBPPI for companies beyond the apparel and footwear industries, where the BBPPI was originally piloted and where much data has been collected over the last six years. In 2020, we published a Spotlight Report using ratings from Hardgoods suppliers - those producing toys, electronics, sports equipment, and other products. This year, we continue our expansion beyond apparel and footwear by sharing findings from a new vertical: Homegoods.
