Why a toolkit for Industrial relations?

by ILO created 2022-01-06T21:47:28+07:00

Sound labour relations bring benefits in terms of productivity, reduced conflicts and disputes, improved job satisfaction, and improved decision-making on matters of mutual concern to management and workers.

This Toolkit has been designed as a holistic package to support ILO efforts in the promotion of sound labour relations. It incorporates a number of training material that have been designed to build and strengthen the capacity on key issues of industrial relations. The Toolkit has been expanding its scope so to cover new topics and make training activities available in different languages.

The Toolkit is available as a free resource on the ITCILO e-Campus. If you are already registered on the e-Campus, you can access the toolkit directly by clicking on the following link. If it is the first time you log on to the e-Campus, you will need to create your own account first. Once you have created your account, then click on “find courses” and type “Industrial Relations Global Toolkit” or use the link provided above.

How to use the Toolkit?

The toolkit is a modular toolkit and includes 10 topics. The modules consist of training units. Most training units can be used individually or combined with others to better meet the needs of the participants.

Who is it for?

The Toolkit is aimed at being used by ILO officials; ILO consultants and ILO constituents.

What topics does it cover?
The Toolkit contains a series of 10 modules on:

How does it work?
The aim of the Toolkit is to provide training facilitators with a set of training activities that maximize the impact of the ILO message on labour relations. Particular attention has been placed during the development in the design of interactive training methodologies in line with the principles of adult learning.

These methodologies have been designed with a diversity of situations in mind and with the intention of providing the needed flexibility in order to accommodate the needs of both trainings of different length and audiences with different pre-existing knowledge. For most unit a “Tips” section will help trainers to contextualize the training unit and will provide some more guidance on how to use the methodology.
