  • Technical Seminars provide manufacturers with specific and timely information on key issues facing the sector. Unlike regular online events, the GIZ FABRIC Technical Seminars are expert-led training and/or consulting sessions where attendees have ample time to ask questions specific to their situations.

Monitoring environmental impacts and good chemical management are a pivotal part of contributing to sustainability in the textile and garment sector.

GIZ developed the e-REMC, a newly e-learning based blended training approach to address the needs of textile and garment manufacturers to improve their chemical management and being compliant with international sustainability standards. The training, focusing on the Resource Efficient Management of Chemicals (REMC), is already tested and implemented within the Programme for Improvement of Environmental Performance of Factories (PIE) by GIZ FABRIC in more than 290 factories in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Vietnam.

The training is aligned with international standards and can be accessed through GIZ’s e-learning platform atingi and is available in seven languages. By equipping factory personnel with capacities to conduct chemical management risk control and evaluate the environmental performance status, factories and brands are in compliance with occupational safety and support a sustainable management of chemicals!

The self-paced training modules, free of costs, allow factories to learn in their own speed and availability. Trained master trainers may support participants in paid online tutored courses and enable peer-to-peer learning among participants upon request.

This online seminar wants to focus on the importance of environmental performance for responsible business and how the impact on environment by sustainable management of resources can minimised. Practical experiences from the PIE program will demonstrate the usability of the e-REMC. Speakers from factories, service providers and brands will share their experience of using the e-REMC for the improvement of chemical management.
