This toolbox is the most comprehensive resource free of cost, on enriching capacity building with a focus on pivotal sustainability aspects which are essential for dynamic industrial planning, operation, and legal frameworks. The tools are developed by partners around the globe to improve compliance of industrial zones and textile and garment manufacturers.

The seminar provides an innovative approach on knowledge dissemination and practice-oriented tools for manufacturers, service providers, multipliers and governmental authorities. The tools and knowledge products addressing topics such as tackling climate change, saving water resources, sustainable chemical management and how to reduce the environmental impact of industrial zones and individual factories; as well guide on social compliance.

Participants learn about concrete solutions to meet the international requirements on sustainability. The platform empowers decisions-makers, planners and project managers from the industry, brands, service-providers and governments to seamlessly integrate sustainability as a business solution and fulfill public mandates on regulation and monitoring for a brighter future.

Project Director / GIZ FABRIC Asia

Marc Beckmann is the Project Director of GIZ FABRIC Asia, based in Cambodia since 2018. He held various positions within GIZ (HQ, Azerbaijan) and the UN (Indonesia and New York). He started his career in the private sector, supporting business-led initiatives for sustainable coffee production.

Oanh Nguyen graduated with a Health Safety Environment Master's degree from Ton Duc Thang University, Viet Nam. She is a Manager in Compliance & Sustainability for Saitex International Group in Viet Nam since 2016. She has over 18 years’ experience in the garments industry.

Hafiz Akmal is a technical expert with experience in the area of chemical management. He is based in Pakistan, and is an environmental scientist with experience of implementing chemical management programmes in the textile sector.

Gundolf Klaehn has been instrumental with implementation capacity development programs on environmental management and compliance in the textile industry. His experience across Asia enables him to address sustainability priorities for producers, brands and governmental stakeholders.
