The Modern Slavery Act: legislation, limitations and the future landscape

It should be safe to assume that slavery is a tragedy of the past. In a world filled with progression and innovation, it’s shocking that over 40 million people are still victims of modern slavery. It’s crucial that governments, business, and civil society work together towards a solution.

We’d like to welcome you to the first session as part of Futerra’s ‘Adventures in the Anthropocene’ webinar series. The webinar series will see leaders in our industry explore key themes, tipping points and solutions that can help us all in our fight towards a better future.

This first session will discuss the Modern Slavery Act and its role in the goal of eradicating Modern Slavery in supply chains by 2030 within the Fashion Industry and beyond. Looking at the legislative landscape – we’ll examine the effectiveness of current legislation, discuss upcoming EU business legislation and explore potential future solutions.

We’ll be asking:

What actions are being taken against Modern Slavery?

What are the limitations?

What’s to come in near the future?

How can we do better?
