Scaling textile recycling in Europe

Textile recycling at scale could help solve Europe’s waste problem – a new circular industry for Europe is created.

By 2030 emerging recycling technologies could be scaled and collection rates significantly increased. McKinsey’s report Scaling textile recycling in Europe – turning waste to value analyses value chain dynamics and shows how growing the textile-recycling industry in Europe can reduce waste, create jobs, increase GDP, and reduce carbon emissions.

Over the last months, McKinsey has carried out an in-depth analysis of the European textile recycling ecosystem in Europe, working in collaboration with Euratex and its ReHubs initiative and conducting interviews with stakeholders across the textile recycling value chain.

For the launch of our report, the authors Karl-Hendrik-Magnus, Jonatan Janmark, and Nikolai Langguth will present the findings and perspectives in more detail in a Webinar on July 14, 5-6 pm CET / 11-12 am ET.
