In November 2021, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) published the Roadmap to Net Zero: Delivering Science-Based Targets in the Apparel Sector. In it, WRI and Aii provided a fresh estimate of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the apparel sector and outlined six interventions that the sector must take to reduce GHG emissions at a pace aligned with a 1.5°C temperature increase scenario (i.e., 45% by 2030 and net zero by 2050).

On March 31 (11:00am EDT / 8:00am PDT) representatives from WRI and Aii will host a panel focusing on the materials-related interventions identified in the roadmap, including scaling preferred materials such as recycled polyester and organic cotton, developing next-generation materials, and improving materials efficiency. They will be joined by representatives from Textile Exchange, Fashion for Good, Cotton Inc., and Unifi.

There will be time for questions for the webinar presenters.
