Ms. Qian Wang coordinates UNEP’s work programme in China and provides policy analysis and support in UNEP China Office. She has more than 25 years of experience in environmental policy and implementation of environmental and sustainable development programmes, as well as deep knowledge of multilateral processes in biodiversity, climate change, circularity, chemical and waste management. She served as members of the Compliance Committees of the Basel Convention and the Minamata Convention. She was also a member of the advisory group for the International Environmental Governance Project.

Before joining UNEP, she worked in China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment focusing on global environmental issues and international cooperation. She holds a M.P.A. in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University, a M.A. in International Relations from Yale University, and a B.A. from Beijing Foreign Studies University.
