Global Deal Webinar Series: Overcoming barriers to social dialogue in global supply chains
In a global economy characterised by complex and highly competitive supply chains, social dialogue can be difficult to achieve, yet offers an opportunity to find “win-win-win” solutions, since it can help deliver better working conditions, inclusive growth, stable industrial relations and shared approaches to business challenges. In this webinar, a number of experts presented and discussed the findings of “Social Dialogue in the 21st Century” – a collaborative project between Cornell Industrial and Labor Relations School’s New Conversations Project and the Strategic Partnership for Garment Supply Chain Transformation (SP), which includes Fair Wear Foundation, CNV Internationaal and Mondiaal FNV.
Global Deal Masterclass Series: The Role of Workplace Cooperation
The Global Deal Masterclass Series on Sound Industrial Relations is aimed at strengthening the capacity of individuals and organisations involved in grievance handling, workplace cooperation, collective bargaining, industrial relations during a crisis and non-discrimination in the workplace. In this session, experts and practitioners, including from ILO/IFC Better Work Programme, provided practical examples of workplace cooperation with the objective to highlight how this form of interaction can help to ensure enterprise sustainability and increased participation of workers in the workplace.

The Global Deal Masterclass Series on Sound Industrial Relations aimed at strengthening the capacity for individuals and organisations involved in grievance handling, workplace cooperation, collective bargaining, industrial relations during a crisis and non-discrimination in the workplace. In this session, social dialogue experts from the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Training Centre of the ILO (ITC-ILO) and the Global Deal community discussed the positive role that employers’ and workers’ representatives have played in the mitigation of the impact of the COVID-19 crisis and in building more resilient, including and sustainable workplaces.
