Safe and Secure Operation in the Textile Industry Amid Omicron Variant in India

The IGCC invites you to the launch event of our Healthcare and Safety Training to support textile manufacturers in India in their efforts to stay operational safely. The event will highlight the current situation in India textile industry from the perspective of relevant stakeholders and experts.

The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) invites you to Webinar “Safe and Secure Operation in the Textile Industry Amid Omicron Variant”. The webinar launches a training organised by the IGCC that aims to provide technical knowledge to textile companies and workers on maintaining and amplifying hygiene measures in the wake of the new Omicron COVID-19 Variant.

The Omicron variant of COVID-19 has prompted several states in India to reimpose several restrictions on the movement of people and business operations to control the spread of the Coronavirus. India has seen the number of new COVID-19 cases rising, it recorded nearly 130,000 new cases on the last week of December 2021.  The new wave of coronavirus wave has the potential to cripple the textile industries in India and put its workers under high health risks.

The textile companies are continuing their efforts to resume their operations. To support textile companies and their workers, the IGCC is planning to offer Hygiene Training for Textile Sector to ensure the textile companies can keep their operations running.

The Webinar will look at how the experiences of textile companies as they continue their operations amid the COVID-19 pandemic and look at key points relevant to ensuring the safety and continuity of the textile sector:

  1. What are the socio-economic challenges faced by textile manufacturers that arise from the Omicron variant?
  2. What are the likely impacts of Omicron Variant on textile workers and their community?
  3. How can we ensure safety and continuation and textile workers and manufacturers?

The Session and Training are organised by the IGCC within the framework of the Project in cooperation with the Business Scouts for Development programme which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
