How to improve Chemical Management through more Sustainable Practices
Chemical Management is a key challenge in the area of environmental sustainability in the garment, textiles and shoe industry in Asia. A number of organizations offer solutions and tools to address common chemical management challenges such as wastewater pollution or Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the air. One central actor is Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC). But also major Multi-Stakeholder Initiatives, such as the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) with the Higg FEM (Factory Environment Module) focus on assessments of manufacturers chemical management performance and there are also plenty of support tools, including training materials, by various development stakeholders such as GIZ.
On this site, we will introduce and link latest tools, methods, products and resources on chemical management. The individual resources can also be found and filtered in the resource section (filtering by sub-theme “chemical management” or “chemical hazard”).
