ILO Report: The future of work and skills in the textiles and clothing sector
Anticipating skills needs and finding solutions through social dialogue in Brazil, Ethiopia, Jordan and Peru

The future of work in the textiles and clothing industries is changing profoundly and rapidly because of technological advances, climate change, demographic shifts, globalization, geopolitics and other drivers and megatrends. The devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has further compounded the challenges and complexity that governments, employers and workers in the industries face as they navigate an increasingly uncertain and unpredictable future. This report summarizes the findings of efforts to anticipate future skills needs in the textiles and clothing industries in Brazil, Ethiopia, Jordan and Peru.
