Better Work's interactive e-learning on supply-chain dynamics and Purchasing Practices
Better Work has developed an interactive foundational e-learning, to help participants better understand supply chain dynamics and how purchasing practices influence working conditions. The training, suitable for all levels and departments is designed to increase brand staff awareness of the impact of their own decision-making. With its focus on supply chain dynamics, the training is also designed to equip other industry actors - from governments, employers' and workers associations - with the knowledge needed for discussions around purchasing practices with brands and others.
The e-learning, which takes an hour to complete, is divided into eight modules, each consisting of an informational video together with a quiz for participants to check their understanding. It tracks a garment from inception to delivery and covers:
- Complex apparel supply chain dynamics
- Why good purchasing practices are critical for good business
- How a company’s business model and purchasing practices impact working conditions
- Practical next steps to ensure purchasing practices have a positive impact on working conditions
- Additional resources
Translating knowledge into action, the course supports participants in developing an individual Action Plan to support their commitment to responsible purchasing. Leveling up the understanding of purchasing practices, within brands and beyond, is key to making progress. Better Work is proud to be leading on this by making this training available to non commercial constituents as well as brands. For a taster of the course, currently available in English (coming soon in Vietnamese and French), please see the trailer and for further details check out the Better Work Purchasing Practices e-Training webpage.
