Tackling Greenwashing: The Directive to Empower Consumers for the Green Transition and the Green Claims Directive

There is no comprehensive EU framework to tackle false or misleading environmental claims currently. To fill this gap and combat greenwashing, the EU Commission proposed two directives: The Directive to Empower Consumers for the Green Transition and the Green Claims Directive, aiming to ensure that green claims are reliable and verifiable across the EU, and enabling consumers to make informed and sustainable purchasing decisions. The session will examine the proposed directives in detail and discuss their implications for stakeholders in the textile sector.
