Meet our Experts on Transparency
Gangambika Somasekarappa is a lawyer specialising in labour rights. Ganga started her career working in Punjab and across India on the issue of bonded labour and other contemporary forms of slavery. On this subject, she has been a legal advisor, trainer and speaker. For the last 3 years, she has been focusing on women’s labour in sectors such as the garment industry in Bangalore, India. She has worked with local garment workers’ unions and organisations in Bangalore, towards workers’ rights to Freedom of Association and GBVH free workplace. Since February 2022, she has taken on the role of In-Country Community Manager at the Open Apparel Registry, continuing her work by leveraging transparency in supply chains to advance human rights in the apparel sector.
Hannah Lennett has built her career around bringing people together to maximize impact. Prior to the Open Apparel Registry, she was a senior leader in global design firm, IDEO’s, social and environmental impact portfolio, where she designed programs to activate cross-sector partnerships (working with clients like Nike, the Rockefeller Foundation, and USAID). She has served as the Stakeholder Engagement Manager at the Open Apparel Registry since 2021, advocating for supply chain transparency in service of collaboration. In this time, she has worked with hundreds of organizations from around the world and across supply chains on their sharing or using of open supply chain data and has been called upon to speak about the value and impact of transparency in a variety of settings.
