10 years ago this month, over 1130 Bangladeshi workers died and thousands more were injured when the Rana Plaza building collapsed. To this day, it remains one of the most brutal lessons about the importance of health and safety in the workplace. Ten years after the disaster, what has changed? Is the industry safer, and the Bangladeshi government better able to monitor compliance? What challenges remain?

The ILO's latest INFOSTORY addresses these specific questions and provides updated data on the textile sector in Bangladesh as well.

If you also want to learn more about the topic "safe and healthy working environment", then it is worth taking a look at the current ILO's World of Work Show. On the occasion of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, the ILO is taking a close look at this very term. After all, we all have the right to go to work and come home alive, uninjured and healthy.
