Our Story
FABRIC developed the app "Seth Yerng - Our Rights" for the Cambodian context so factory workers can inform themselves on local labour law and occupational health and safety. The app is based on the experience with a similar app developed in Myanmar by FABRIC, which achieved over 16,000 downloads. The app is based on a "storytelling" approach and brings the complex topic of labour law to the target group in an understandable and entertaining way through a story. The content can be listened to like an audiobook to enable access even for users with low literacy.
The official launch event in March 2021 was attended by suppliers, international buyers and retailers, and trade union representatives. The demand for the use of the app was very high from the beginning, so retailers like H&M, C&A and Primark implemented the app in their factories through trainings from November 2021 until June 2022. The app has been implemented in 50 factories all over Cambodia. The trainings were accompanied by a social media campaign and reach out through influencers. In March 2023 the app achieved 30,000 downloads.
