Ownership, governance and the future of the Asia Garment Hub

Currently, the Asia Garment Hub is jointly owned and maintained by the German Development Organization (GIZ) and the International Labour Organization (ILO). Both organizations are committed to supporting the Hub until it’s on a solid growth path, at least until June 2023.
After 2023, the ILO and GIZ aim to transfer the Asia Garment Hub to independent third-party ownership, so it becomes a wholly industry-owned and industry-led initiative. This transition will be subject to thorough vetting and due diligence and dependent on the availability of a suitable industry partner (or consortium of partners) with broad authority and legitimacy among industry stakeholders.
ILO and GIZ are already starting conversations with potential “sustainability partners” who may be interested in taking over the platform.
