“We have committed to net zero emission by 2050, in line with the climate science goal to keep global warming below 1.5oC. It is important for the leaders in the garment industry to commit and lead the entire industry towards net zero emission goal. We also set our interim target of reducing 35% aggregate greenhouse gas emission by 2030,” says Andrew in the promotional video. Crystal International’s net zero commitment has been acknowledged by Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

To achieve this long-term ambition, the pioneering Crystal International is formulating a net zero strategy and roadmap, including the enhancement of productivity and energy efficiency, expanding the use of on-site renewable energy, and exploring opportunities for both off-site renewable resources and advanced green technologies. Crystal is engaging a consultant to develop a long-term decarbonization roadmap for defining targets of each factories and actions towards the 2030 and 2050 goals.

“We have an opportunity to save our world by changing the way we work and collaborate. I believe it can be done but we need everyone from retailers, brands, garment manufacturers, fabric mills, and the rest of the supply chain to work together to make it happen,” says Andrew.
