Alexandra Behns has a background in international communication management and international relations and has been working in the field of international cooperation in different positions for the past 10 years. After completing her studies in Germany, Mexico, and the UK, she joined a trainee program with the UN in New York, before she started working for GIZ in Frankfurt, Germany in 2011. Coming from GIZ‘s strategy unit at headquarters, she joined GIZ China in April 2018 as coordinator for China-related activities in GIZs regional project on sustainable textile production and as coordinator for the develoPPP project by GIZ and the German fashion retailer Zalando on Chemical Management in Chinese shoe factories. Since 2019, she is responsible for coordinating activities on regional cooperation in and with China in GIZs program Promoting Sustainability in the Textile and Garment Industry in Asia (FABRIC).
